About Us
The concept for creating this community has been an ever evolving one. It first started with the birth of our daughter. I was looking for a way to make it possible for my wife to stay home with her without having to make major changes. The thought came to mind that there are many families who were, have been, and will continue to be in the same situation. I was originally thinking about just creating a website were people could donate items and money to assist families. I quickly realized that model would not do well. It would be difficult to continuously drive traffic to that site, it would for a lack of better terms come across as begging, in itself it would become a full-time job to make something happen, and there would likely be little return. All of this would result in not helping very many people.
As time went on, I realized that I could create not only a website, but a place online where an entire community could grow. It has been said that it takes an entire village to raise a child. In todays world, villages don’t exist in the same way they used to. While it can be nice to have support in close proximity, people move around much more frequently and it has become more difficult to create the same type of ties that once existed. Today many people have moved to building relationships and communities online to supplement what is available to them locally.
We invite you to join us in creating a Powerful, Supportive, and Helpful community. We have created a Forum that covers the vast spectrum involved with raising children. We highly encourage you share with the community your experiences and the knowledge you have gained in your journeys into and through parenthood.
In addition to providing knowledge to members of the community, we have setup the following ways for members to financially assist other members:
-Under the classifieds section we have a “Free” section where members can offer items to other members for free.
-Under the classifieds section we have a “For Sale” section where members can offer used items to other members at a discounted price compared to new.
-Under the classifieds section we have a “For Trade” section were members can trade items rather than having to purchase new.
-We have an Affiliate account setup with Amazon. We ask all members who make purchases from Amazon to do so through our Affiliate link. A portion of funds generated through the Affiliate account will be used to maintain this site and a portion will be used to directly benefit members of the community.
In the future we plan to do the following to provide additional financial assistance to members of the community:
-Setup an Affiliate account with other Merchants (Babies”R”Us, Target, Walmart, Ebay, Etsy, etc.)
-Attract sponsors (Individuals and Businesses)
-Setup a Crowd Funding Campaign with GoFundme.com
